The Business Intelligence (BI) and Software Solutions team creates and supports innovative internal and external facing solutions that are used to make insightful decisions and drive process efficiencies. The BI and Software Solutions Leader is a hands-on role that will work with the Manager of Information Technology and other business leadership to provide effective strategic leadership and planning while leading a team that develops, maintains, and supports custom software applications and Business Intelligence solutions, troubleshoots, and provide advanced technical support in adherence to the company’s standards, policies, and procedures. This role applies a general aptitude across a wide range Business Intelligence and software development technologies and provides architecture leadership and leads/participates in the implementation of IT related projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the requirements gathering, architecting and delivery of software solutions through the software development lifecycle (SDLC) including all aspects of software development, formal unit, integration, functional and regression testing, release, and ongoing maintenance and support.

• Manage the requirements gathering, architecting and delivery of Business Intelligence initiatives including Data Lake/Data Warehouse, KPI dashboards and essential reports that assist the business with informed decision making.

• Coordinate and Manage BI and Software Solution projects while participating as a technical contributor to broader business projects and initiatives.

• Independently utilize professional discretion to achieve project goals with minimal oversight from the Manager of Information Technology.

• Communicate clearly in both written and verbal communications specific process logic that solves assigned business problems.

• Manage and mentor skilled professionals, both full time and contract, engaged in BI and software development and support.

• Manage BI and Software Solutions OpEx budget and make recommendations for future budget forecasting and planning needs.

• Provide technical support to internal and external customers.

• Communicate status updates to Manager of IT and other Senior business leaders where necessary.

• Proactively research, learn, and apply new technology and/or methods to solve and implement for complex business issues and projects.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field • 5+ years of software development experience

• Business Intelligence design and development experience

• People leadership experience

• Proficient in learning and communicating developing technology and techniques

• A demonstrable high-level of proficiency with project planning and execution Education and Experience Preferred:

• 2+ years directly managing personnel

• UI/IX Experience

• Software solutioning experience leveraging the Microsoft ecosystem of cloud products

• Vendor and contract management

• ITIL Certification

• Experience with Power BI and Azure Analytics platform(s)
